Jul 26, This being said, the only reason you would have any negative effects from removing the track bars is if you have worn suspension parts, such as spring eye and shackle bushings, that the track bar it's masking.
All in all, the pluses of removal are better ride, more flex, and less stress on the treecutting.buzzted Reading Time: 9 mins. Aug 03, Re: 90 YJ track bar bushings - removal/installation I don't have a rear track bar but just recently changed my front treecutting.buzz metal ring has to come out.I pressed mine out which was a pain rubber and treecutting.buzz metal ring stayed so I used an extremely sharp cold chisel and cut it in half then pried it loose with a screw driver.
Oct 25, Removing the front track bar was the only way I could get my YJ to flex with a SUA setup. With a SUA setup running a total of 9" of lift I got the front tires (33s) to rub the fenders without the track bar. However the downside to removing the track bar, will be the play you gain in the steering wheel. Jul 30, The sway bar doe shelp as far as street driving, but after removing it just takes a little while to get used to a bit more roll on curves, nota biggie.
The trac bar in a leafed rig, SOA or SUA is definitely not needed, unless you have 20 inch lift springs, lol. remove them, and enjoy. It is the first part to get taken off on my Jeeps. Dec 30, Jan 02, Trac bars I don't think anybody that wheels a YJ uses trac bars, i think one of the first things i did to mine when i go it stock was disconnect the swaybars and remove the trac bars, then promptly went wheeling:flipoff2.
They make excellent grab bars and add a bit of strength of a roll cage.
